U.S. Fulbright Scholar Conducts Research at National Institute of Hepatology and Tropical Medicine

Dr. Frederick DeWolfe Miller, Professor and Chair, Doctoral Program in Epidemiology, University of Hawaii, has begun research at the National Institute of Hepatology and Tropical Medicine. He is conducting research on “Epidemiology and control of Hepatitis C Epidemic in Egypt.” Educated at University of Tennessee (M.Sc. 1969) and the University of Michigan (MPH 1974, Ph.D. 1978), Dr. Miller established the Department of Public Health Sciences and Epidemiology at the UH School of Medicine. He is a co-discover of the largest epidemic of hepatitis C virus in the world, located in Egypt. The Commission extends a warm welcome to Dr. Miller.
