Fulbright Egypt Celebrates Mental Health Awareness Month

In celebration of Mental Health Awareness month, the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt hosted its annual Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship alumni event on Gerontology: Wellness and Legislation. The first panel on mental health featured Fulbright U.S. Scholar Dr. William Hills, Professor of Psychology at Coastal Carolina University and prominent Egyptian Psychiatrist and Director of Behman Psychology Center Dr. Nasser Loza. Hubert Humphrey alumna Dr. Nahla Abdel Tawab, Country Director of the Population Council Egypt, served as moderator. The second panel titled: Geriatric Jurisprudence featured two Hubert Humphrey alumni Judge Alaa El-Shimy, Deputy Assistant Minister of Justice for Human Rights, Woman, and Child Sector and Judge Mustafa Farrag, Member of the Technical Bureau for Human Rights, Woman, and Child Sector at the Ministry of Justice. The panel was moderated by Fulbright Executive Director Dr. Maggie Nassif. Alumni and guests from several universities and the ministries of Health and Justice were welcomed by the Fulbright team.
