AY2012-2013 Egyptian Students Attend Orientation Program
On June 27-28 the Commission conducted a pre-departure orientation for Egyptian students selected to participate in AY2012-2013 exchanges. The orientation included a presentation on “American Education, Culture and Society,” by an American Fulbright student, Ms. Natalia Suit (Al Azhar University 2011-2012) and information on grant details by Ms. Nevine A. Gad El-Mawla and Ms. Deena Omar of the Commission’s Egyptian team. Two recent Fulbright alumni, Ms. Dina Elzanfaly (Massachusetts Institute of Technology 2009-2010) and Mr. Mohamed Sayed Ahmed (New York University 2009-2010), shared their experiences with the new Fulbrighters.
They were joined by a current student, Mr. Ahmed Tawfic Saleh (University of Chicago 2011-2012). Programs for Egyptian students provide opportunities for recent university graduates, master’s and doctoral degree candidates, and young professionals and artists to study in the United States. The Commission extends best wishes to its AY2012-2013 students.
