U.S. Fulbright Senior Specialist Begins Exchange Visit at Menoufiya University

An American professor of English from Western Michigan University is visiting Menoufiya University under the auspices of the Fulbright Senior Specialist Program. She is Dr. Katherine Joslin. Dr. Joslin earned a Ph.D. degree in American literature at Northwestern University. In 1997 Western Michigan University’s alumni honored her with an “Excellence in Teaching Award,” and in 1999, 2000, and 2001 she directed summer Study of the U.S. Institutes at Western Michigan. While in Menoufiya Dr. Joslin will present lectures to undergraduate and graduate students in American civilization and literature, and comparative literature. She will also conduct a needs assessment of the American studies curriculum and advise faculty on methods for enhancing the content of the American studies courses taught at the University. While in Egypt Dr. Joslin will participate in symposia convened at Cairo University and Minia University. A warm welcome to Dr. Joslin
