U.S. Fulbright Scholar Conducts Research in Upper Egypt
A historian from the United States has begun research in Upper Egypt. He is Dr. Eugene CruzUribe, editor of the Journal of the Society for the Study of Egyptian Antiquities and Professor of History, Northern Arizona University. Dr. CruzUribe was educated at the University of Chicago (B.A. 1975), M.A. (1977), and received a Ph.D. from Chicago in 1983. A specialist in Demotic writing, CruzUribe has for 25 years conducted field research in Egypt, mainly in the Karga Oasis. Dr. CruzUribe is in Egypt as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar. During this most recent visit he will conduct research on “Pilgrimage, Graffiti and the Ancient Monuments of Aswan” while affiliated with the Supreme Council of Antiquities.
