American Fulbright Scholar Lectures at Suez Canal University

On February 27 an American Fulbright scholar, Vanessa Allen-Brown, lectured at Suez Canal University’s Faculty of Education. The presentation, “Voices of the Past and Present: African American Women Writers,” was attended by more than 100 Egyptian undergraduate students. An associate professor at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Allen-Brown is currently in Egypt under the auspices of the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt’s U.S. Scholar Program. She is lecturing on African American women’s oral history/life narratives, women’s issues and literature at 6th of October University. Through programs like this the Commission’s grantees share their expertise with the larger Egyptian academic community.
