Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Fulbright Egypt Commission accompanied by Eng. Raafat Fayez, the Commission’s Operations Engineer paid a visit to the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries in Alexandria. The Fulbright delegation met with Prof. Dr. Abeer Moneir, President of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Suzanne Gharbawi, Vice President, and Prof. Dr. Amr Hammouda, former President. The discussions focused on ways to enhance cooperation in support of the Institute’s role, which was established in 1932 and is the only center in the Arab world dedicated to conducting research to support fisheries resources, navigation, climate disaster management, and mining. The Fulbright delegation expressed their admiration for the facilities, laboratories, the seismology research center, the fisheries division and the aquarium and shared details on Fulbright opportunities for Egyptian faculty research in the United States and host American professors across various departments of the institute.
