American Fulbrighters Visit St. Anthony Monastery

On March 27-28 U.S. Fulbrighters enjoyed an overnight visit to Saint Anthony Monastery. The visit was preceded by a lecture, “Monks, Miracles, and Monuments: Egyptian monasticism and the Monastery of St. Antony at the Red Sea,” by Fulbright alumna Ms. Heather Badamo (Helwan University 2007-2008). A tour of the monastery was conducted by Father Maximous Elantony. The Commission and its American Fulbrighters are grateful to Ms. Badamo and Father Maximous for their careful introduction to the world’s first monastery.
