45th Anniversary of the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program

The Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt (BFCE) hosted a conference on Egypt Sustainability Conference: Economic Development, Climate Change and Public Health in celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the Humphrey Global Fellowship Program, which began in 1978. Over 100 Egyptian Hubert Humphrey alumni have received leadership training and human capacity building over the years and are now engaged in national projects to serve Egypt’s 2030 vision and sustainability goals. Guests were welcomed by H.E. Ambassador John Desrocher, Charge d’Affaires to Egypt and Deputy Minister Dr. Yasser Refaat, on behalf of Minister of Higher Education and BFCE Chair of the Board, Dr. Ayman Ashour.

BFCE acknowledges the service of Ms. Lauren Lovelace, Minister-Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo as the Treasurer of BFCE Board.

Vice Minister of Finance for Public Treasury  Dr. Ehab AbouAish and Egyptian Fulbright Scholar Program alumnus speaks at the Egypt Sustainability Conference: Economic Development, Climate Change and Public Health in celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the Humphrey Global Fellowship Program.

Dr. Mohammed Omran, alumnus of the Distinguished Humphrey Program and the Egyptian Fulbright Scholar Program speaks at the Egypt Sustainability Conference: Economic Development, Climate Change and Public Health in celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the Humphrey Global Fellowship Program. Dr. Omran is the Former Executive Chair of the Board of Financial Regulatory Authority and Former Executive Chair of the Board of the Egyptian Stock Exchange. He is a Professor of Financial Economics at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.

Advisor on the Fulbright Egypt Inclusion and Accessibility Initiative Dr. Ibrahim Emara who is an alumnus of the Egyptian Fulbright Scholar Program speaks at the Egypt Sustainability Conference: Economic Development, Climate Change and Public Health in celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the Humphrey Global Fellowship Program.

The Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt (BFCE) hosted an alumni panel discussion on Sustainability, Climate Change, and Economic Development at the Egypt Sustainability Conference: Economic Development, Climate Change and Public Health in celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the Humphrey Global Fellowship Program. The panel was moderated by Dr. Irene Samy Fahim, Associate Professor, Director of Smart Engineering Systems Research Center at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Nile University.

The Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt (BFCE) hosted an alumni panel discussion on Public Health at the Egypt Sustainability Conference: Economic Development, Climate Change and Public Health in celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the Humphrey Global Fellowship Program. The panel was moderated Dr. Nahla Abdel Tawab, Senior Associate and Country Director at the Population Council Egypt and Hubert Humphrey alumna.

The panel was moderated by Dr. Mahmoud Fouad, Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University and BFCE alumnus.
