BFCE OUTREACH VISIT AT Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, JUNE 2023
The Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt team led by Executive Director Dr. Maggie Nassif, accompanied by Ms. Sarah Galal, Program Officer, was pleased to visit Theodor Bilharz Research Institute and meet with Prof. Mohamed Shemis, Acting Director and Chair of the Board of the Institute, to discuss collaboration with the Commission through Fulbright opportunities which include the Fulbright U.S. Specialist Program and programs for Egyptians to study and conduct research in the U.S. The meeting was attended by Prof. Tarek Abo Shosha, Professor of Pathology and Former Deputy Director of the Institute; Prof. Ahmed Alraie, Professor of the Digestive System and Liver; Prof. Azza Saleh, Professor of Clinical Chemistry; Prof. Eman Al-Ahwany, Head of the Division of Immunology Research and Treatment Evaluation and coordinator of the meeting, Dr. Heba Khalil, Assistant Professor of Pathology and Scientific and Cultural Relations Coordinator at the institute, Dr. Ezzat Abdel Latif, Assistant Professor of Therapeutic Chemistry and Director’s Office Coordinator. The meeting was followed by an information session on Fulbright opportunities for graduate students, researchers, and professors to conduct research and pursue professional development opportunities in the U.S.
تشرفت هيئة فولبرايت بقيادة د. ماجي نصيف المدير التنفيذي وبصحبتها أ. سارة جلال مسؤول برامج بزيارة معهد تيودور بلهارس للأبحاث ولقاء الاستاذ الدكتور محمد شميس القائم بأعمال مدير المعهد ورئيس مجلس الإدارة لمناقشة أوجه التعاون من خلال الفرص التي تقدمها الهيئة للدراسة في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية واستضافة خبراء أمريكيين بالمعهد. وحضر اللقاء د. طارق أبو شوشة أستاذ الباثولوجي ونائب مدير المعهد السابق، د. أحمد الراعي أستاذ الجهاز الهضمي والكبد ، د. عزة صالح أستاذ الكيمياء الإكلينيكية، د. إيمان الأهواني رئيس شعبة بحوث المناعة وتقييم العلاج ومنسق الندوة، د. هبة خليل أستاذ مساعد الباثولوجي والمشرف على العلاقات العلمية والثقافية، ود. عزت عبد اللطيف أستاذ مساعد الكيمياء العلاجية والمشرف على مكتب مدير المعهد. وقام فريق فولبرايت بعقد ندوة تعريفية عن المنح التي تقدمها الهيئة للخريجين والباحثين والأساتذة للتدريب المهني والبحث العلمي بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.
