Fulbright Commission In Egypt Hosts Assistant Secretary of State for Education and Cultural Affairs, Ms. Marie Royce
On February 20th 2020, the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt was honored by a visit from Assistant Secretary of State for Education and Cultural Affairs, Ms. Marie Royce. Ms. Royce met with a diverse group of the Commission alumni that included Professor Galal El Said, Former Minister of Transportation, Former Governor of Cairo and Former Governor of Fayoum; Professor Ezz El Din Abusteit, Former Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation; Dr. Ehab Aboueish, Vice Minister of Finance for Public Treasury; Mr. Ahmed Issa, Chief Executive Officer for Retail Banking at the Commercial International Bank (CIB); Dr. Shireen Assem, Vice President of Agricultural Research Center; Professor Osama Madany, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Menoufia University; Professor Mahmoud Fouad, Former Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Power Engineering at Cairo University; Dr. Mai Tolba, Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Ain Shams University; Dr. Ola Gomaa, Head of Radiation Microbiology Department at the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority; Ms. Nairy Abdelshafy, Instructor at Cairo Institute of Liberal Arts and Dr. Noha Khalifa, Head of the Nephrology Unit at the Police Hospital.
Ms. Royce was welcomed by the Fulbright team led by Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission. She was accompanied by a team from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo led by Ms. Helen LaFave, Minister Counselor for Public Affairs and Fulbright Board member. Also in attendance was Mr. Matthew Bartlett, Director of Public Affairs and Strategic Communication at the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. State Department. The meeting was followed by a welcome reception for the alumni and guests.
