Science Circle Visits Water and Sanitation Company in Dakahlia
On January 17 the Commission’s Science Circle visited the Water and Sanitation Company, Dakahlia. Following on the Circle’s initiative, “Fulbrighters Face Egypt’s Scientific Challenges,” begun in 2011 at the City of Scientific Research and Technology Applications in Borg Al Arab, the visit was organized by Fulbright alumna Dr. <b>Nagwa Nawar (Texas A&M University 1995-1996), a Mansoura University professor of chemistry. The Company Chairman, Eng. Abdel Maksoud Ta’alab, expressed interest in collaboration with the Circle in search of more effective use of wastewater.
The program included a field visit to Sherbine Waste Water Treatment Station, where alumnus Dr. Hani Moubasher (University of California – Davis 2001-2002) and other members of the Circle met with the station team to assess scientific needs and plans of action accordingly. Through programs like this the Commission facilitates exchange within Egypt’s science and industry communities.
