U.S. Alumnus Describes Fulbright Year at Alexandria University

U.S. Fulbright alumnus Professor Hanu Pappu (Alexandria University 2009-2010) has described his experience as a Fulbright scholar in Egypt to colleagues at the Washington State University. Dr. Pappu’s presentation was included in the Fulbright Academy Lecture Series, which is sponsored by WSU. The series provides a “platform for faculty, students and staff to exchange ideas, interact socially, and aspire to the Fulbright vision of increasing mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.”

 

Dr. Pappu is Professor and Chair, Department of Plant Pathology at WSU, where he holds the President Sam Smith Distinguished Professorship in Plant Virology. His presentation to the Academy focused on “Research and Teaching at Alexandria University: Addressing Disease Threats to Food Security and Sustainability in an Increasingly Competitive Global Agricultural Trade.” The Commission is grateful to a distinguished Fulbright alumnus.
