American Fulbrighters Visit Dahshour, Memphis, Sakkara

 In Uncategorized

American Fulbrighers and their families, together with Commission staff members, toured Dahshour, Memphis, and Sakkara recently. The tour, led by Dr. Chahinda Karim, a professor of Islamic art and architecture at the American University in Cairo, included visits to the Tomb of Ti, the Pyramid of Teti, the layout of the Pyramid of Zozer, the city of Memphis and the Red Pyramid. One Fulbrighter noted: “the best part of the trip was the professional expertise of our guide and her description of the tomb murals at Sakkara.” Another commented: “my wife, daughter, and I … profoundly thank you for successfully planning and overseeing the Sakkara, Memphis, and Dahshour trip.” The Commission’s Culture and Education Program helps its American grantees to see Egypt and to meet each other to build new friendships with other Fulbright scholars, students, and their families.
