Fulbright Alumnus Speaks at “Human Rights and Communications” Conference in Mexico
Fulbright alumnus Dr. Ibrahim Mostafa Abd Al Wahab Saleh (Universidad Metropolitina 2009) spoke recently at a conference on “Human Rights and Communication” convened at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Designed to promote debate on human rights and media studies – e.g., the right to communicate, freedom of expression, freedom to hold opinions, freedom of information, involvement of citizens in decision-making processes, promotion of the cultural diversity by media – the conference featured Dr. Ibrahim and 16 other international speakers. Dr. Ibrahim, an assistant professor of journalism and mass communication at the American University in Cairo, spoke on language diversity. He participated in the Commission’s Fulbright Visiting Specialist Program in 2009.
