Cornell University Professor Joins CASA Program
An associate professor in Cornell University’s Department of Near Eastern Studies has joined the Center for Arabic Study Abroad’s CASA III program. She is Dr. Deborah A. Starr. Dr. Starr was educated at the University of Pennsylvania (B.A. 1990) and the University of Michigan (M.A. 1994, Ph.D. 2000), and has studied Arabic at Penn and the University of Michigan, as well as at Middlebury College She is in Cairo with her husband Elliot Shapiro and her daughter, Hannah. The Commission extends a warm welcome to Deborah and her family.
