Commission Staffer Visits Humphrey Sites in the U.S.

Ms. Deena Omar, the Commission’s Egyptian Team member responsible for the Hubert H. Humphrey Program, traveled to the United States recently to enhance her familiarity with the program. While in the U.S. she participated in the Program’s “Global Leadership Forum“, attended by Humphrey Fellows – including two Egyptians – from 90 countries. Following the forum, Deena consulted with colleagues at the U.S. Department of State and a variety of Washington-area cooperating agencies, and visited with Humphrey Fellows at American University. Traveling onward to the University of Minnesota, Deena enjoyed consultations at the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. The Humphrey Program provides mid-career professionals from Egypt and other countries an opportunity to enhance their professional capabilities through specialized, non-degree programs at selected U.S. universities.
