U.S. Fulbrighter Lectures at NRC
In late December the Commission’s Science Circle, in coordination with Cairo’s prestigious National Research Center, hosted a lecture at the Center by U.S. Fulbright Scholar Dr. Frederick DeWolfe Miller. Dr. Esmat Abdel Gafaar, the Center’s Vice President for International Relations, and nearly 50 Fulbright alumni and other scientists heard Dr. Miller’s presentation on the “Reduction of Hepatitis C Virus Transmission.” Dr. Miller is Chairman of the Doctoral Program in Epidemiology at the University of Hawaii. As a Fulbright Scholar, he conducted research on the “Epidemiology and Control of Hepatitis C Epidemic in Egypt” while affiliated with the National Hepatology and Tropical Medicine Research Institute.
