U.S. Fulbright Student Conducts Research at Academy of Arts, Om Kolthoum Museum

A graduate of the University of Minnesota and Wesleyan University has reached Egypt to conduct research at the Academy of Arts’ Higher Institute of Arabic Music and the Om Kolthoum Museum. She is Ms. Nicole LeCorgne. Ms. LeCorgne earned a B.A. degree in world music and dance from Minnesota in 2004, and an M.A. in ethnomusicology from Wesleyan in 2005. While in Egypt she will study “The Life of Music in Cairo – a photographic ethnography.” Ms. LeCorgne is in Cairo under the auspices of the Commission’s U.S. Student Program. … a warm welcome to her!
