American Fulbrighters Visit Minia
On March 27-30 seventeen American Fulbrighters and their dependents visited Minia Governorate and Minia University. The tour was sponsored by the Commission’s Culture and Education Program, and was assisted by Dr. Ahmed Zahran, Vice President for Post Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Darlene Brooks-Hedstrom, an AY2007-2008 Fulbright Scholar from Wittenberg University. Visits to the Governorate’s many historical site visits were followed by dinner and an Egyptian-American dialogue between the visiting Fulbrighters and more than forty students and teachers from the University. “It was great trip to middle Egypt,” said one Fulbrighter. “It was particularly helpful to have site visits led by a Fulbright scholar.” Another Fulbrighter called the dialogue as the highlight of the trip.
