American Fulbright Scholar Lectures at Helwan University
On February 25 an American Fulbright scholar, Christopher R. Stone, lectured at Faculty of Music Education, Helwan University. The presentation, “Lebanon: The Fairouz and Rahbani Nation,” was attended by more than sixty-five deans, vice deans, faculty members, and graduate students. Dr. Stone is Head of the Arabic division of City University of New York’s Hunter College. He is conducting research on “Ahmad Zaki and Post-1967 Egyptian Popular Culture” while affiliated with the High Cinema Institute of the Academy of Arts. The lecture was organized by Fulbright alumna Dr. Nabila Al-Alfy (Wichita State University 1993), Dean, Faculty of Music Education, and subsequently appeared on the prestigious television program El Bet Betak.
