Egyptian Fulbright Scholar Visits American School
On February 23-26 an Egyptian Fulbright Student, Fatma Assef, attended an enrichment seminar for international students convened in Miami by the Institute of International Education. While in Miami Ms. Fatma visited the Ransom Everglades School, where she gave presentations on Egypt and the Middle East. An open Q & A session followed. “I enjoyed being the eye-opener for those kids,” Ms. Fatma remarked following her visit. A Teaching Assistant in the Alexandria University Faculty of Arts, Ms. Fatma is currently in the United States under the auspices of the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt’s Egyptian Student Program. She is studying Arab-American literature at the George Washington University. Through presentations like Ms. Fatma’s, the Commission meets its mandate of mutual understanding through mutual education exchange.
