Meet Verena Youssef our FLTA grantee talking about her experience with culture

Fulbrighters like Arafa S. Mansour of Menoufia University, who went to the US on the Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP), and Verena Youssef, a Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA), engage in cultural activities and give talks on various topics about Egypt: its location and climate; its history and economy. They utilize media that ranges from videos and music to clothing and artifacts. As Verena Youssef explained:  “I took this picture with my dear students at Bennett College, NC. in a cultural event. During this event they sang and performed a famous Arabic song by Dalida called “My beautiful country” ( حلوة يا بلدى).”
