Fulbright Commission in Egypt Hosts Law Alumni Meeting
The Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt (BFCE) hosted a meeting for alumni in the field of law as part of the Commission’s effort to enhance its bi-national alumni network by connecting in country U.S. Fulbright experts with their Egyptian counterparts. The meeting was held on the occasion of U.S. Fulbright Specialist Dr. Ross Pifer’s visit to Egypt to collaborate on a project titled “Developing Geographical Indicators in Egypt”. Dr. Pifer is the Director of the Center for Agricultural and Shale Law at the Rural Economic Development Clinic at Penn State University’s Dickinson Law School. The meeting was attended by the following prominent Hubert H. Humphrey (HHH) alumni from the Ministry of Justice: Judge Hisham Mustafa Nasr, Judge Alaa Shimmy, and Judge Mustafa Farrag. They were joined by fellow HHH alumnus former Judge Youssef Auf from the United Nations’ Law and Human Rights Program, and Egyptian Fulbright Student Program alumni: Professor Ahmed Fouad, Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the British University Cairo and Mr. Momen Mahmoud, Corporate Legal Counsel at Hassan Allam Hassan Allam Holding Company. Alumni were welcomed by Executive Director Maggie Nassif; Assistant Operations Manager Manal Faress; Assistant Programs Manager Asser Hany; Programs Officer Karim Guirgis and Assistant Programs Officer Maria Emad.
استضافت ةيئة فولبرايت مص اجتماعًا لخريجي برامج فولبرايت في مجال القانون، وذلك في إطار جهود الهيئة لتعزيز شبكة خريجيها المصرية المريكية من خلال ربط الخبراء الأميركيين في مصر بنظرائهم المصريين. وقد عُقد الاجتماع بالتزامن مع زيارة الدكتور روس بايفر، استاذ “ فولبرايت الأميركي إلى مصر للتعاون في مشروع بعنوان “تطوير المؤشرات الجغرافية في مصر”.
يشغل الدكتور بايفر منصب مدير مركز القانون الزراعي وقانون الغاز الصخري، ومديروحدة التنمية الاقتصادية الريفية بكلية ديكنسون للقانون في جامعة ولاية بنسلفانيا.
شارك في الاجتماع عدد من خريجي برنامج هوبرت همفري البارزين من وزارة العدل وهم المستشار هشام مصطفى نصر، والمستشار علاء الشِيمّي، والمستشار مصطفى فراج. كما انضم إليهم خريج برنامج همفري المستشار يوسف عوف من برنامج الأمم المتحدة للقانون وحقوق الإنسان، بالإضافة إلى خريجي برنامج فولبرايت للطلاب المصريين: الدكتور أحمد فؤاد، مدرس مساعد بكلية القانون في الجامعة البريطانية في القاهرة، والأستاذ مؤمن محمود، المستشار القانوني لشركة حسن علام القابضة.
وقد رحّب بالخريجين المديرالتنفيذي ماجي نصيف، مساعد مدير العمليات منال فارس، مساعد مدير البرامج اسر هاني، مسؤول البرامج كريم جرجس ومساعد مسؤول البرامج ماريا عماد.
