Fulbright-Egypt Medical and Public Health Alumni Gathering in Honor of U.S. Specialist Kanwal Matharu
The Fulbright-Egypt team hosted an alumni gathering in honor of U.S. Specialist Dr. Kanwal Matharu, Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Carver College of Medicine, University of Iowa who is in Cairo to collaborate on a project to enhance ophthalmology research management systems in Egypt.
The BFCE team welcomed alumni and guests in the medical and public health fields who included former President of the Research Institute of Ophthalmology, former President of Galala and Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST). Alumni in attendance were the Dean of Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University, the Executive Director of the Population Council, and professors and professionals from Ain Shams, Alexandria University and the World Health Organization (WHO). They represented the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship, Egyptian Student-STEM, Visiting Student Researcher, Egyptian Scholar and the Community College for Administrators Program (CCAP).
استضاف فريق فولبرايت–مصر لقاءً لبعض الخريجين مع الدكتور كانوال ماثارو، أستاذ مساعد طب العيون وعلوم البصر في كلية كارفر للطب بجامعة آيوا، أثناء زيارته للقاهرة للإسهام في مشروع يهدف إلى تعزيز أنظمة إدارة أبحاث طب العيون في مصر.
حضر اللقاء خريجو فولبرايت وضيوف من مجالي الطب والصحة العامة، من بينهم الرئيس السابق لمعهد بحوث العيون، والرئيس السابق لجامعتي الجلالة وجامعة مصر للعلوم والتكنولوجيا (MUST). كما شارك في الحضور عميد كلية الطب بجامعة عين شمس، إضافة إلى أساتذة ومتخصصين من جامعة عين شمس، وجامعة الإسكندرية، ومنظمة الصحة العالمية (WHO).
مثّل الحضور برامج فولبرايت المختلفة، بما في ذلك برنامج هيوبرت ه. همفري، وبرنامج الطلاب المصريين في مجالات العلوم والتكنولوجيا والهندسة والرياضيات (STEM)، وبرنامج الباحث الزائر للطلاب، وبرنامج الباحث المصري، وبرنامج كليات المجتمع لمسؤولي الإدارات (CCAP).
