U.S. Fulbrighter Conducts Research at Al Azhar Center for Dialogue

Mr. Aviel Asher-Schapiro, an American Fulbright student, is conducting research on interreligious cooperation in Egypt while affiliated with the Al Azhar Center for Dialogue. Mr. Asher-Schapiro was educated at Georgetown University (B.A. 2010), where he wrote an honors thesis on the al-Wasat Islamic Party. While at the Al Azhar Center he is pursuing his interest in grassroots cooperation with Dr. Mahmoud Azab, Advisor to the Grand Imam of Al Azhar. The Commission extends a warm welcome to Avi!
