U.S. Fulbright Student Conducts Research at National Academy of Arts
A doctoral student at Northeastern University has reached Egypt to conduct research at the Higher Institute for Folkloric Studies, Academy of Arts. She is Ms. Stephanie Boyle. Ms. Boyle earned a B.A. degree in history at Wesleyan University and an M.A. degree, also in history, at Trinity College. While affiliated with Dr. Sameeh Shaalan, Professor of Popular Customs and Traditions, Ms. Boyle will study “Sheikha Nur al Sabah: a 19th-century Sufi mystic from Tanta.” Prior to pursuing her research at the Academy, Ms. Boyle is studying Arabic at the International Language Institute under the auspices of the Commission’s Critical Language Enhancement Award (CLEA) Program.
