Fulbright Partners’ Reception

On Monday April 15 2024, Executive Director of the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt Maggie Nassif hosted a reception at her residence for colleagues from sister organizations and key partners. Among the guests was Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs for the Americas Ambassador Hazem Fahmy who is an alum of the American Field Service (AFS) Program. Ambassador Fahmy oversees the Fulbright file at MOFA and has been a great supporter of the Fulbright Program in Egypt. The Commission team thanked Ambassador Fahmy and wished him well as he prepares to retire in May and move to the U.S. to join his wife who is the Deputy Consul General in New York.

The event was attended by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Omar Selim; Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Ashraf Mounir and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Emad Hanna. They were joined by AFS-Egypt Executive Director Ms. Sherifa Fayez and alumni of the AFS and Fulbright programs.

Dr. Nassif was honored with the presence of DCM Ms. Eveynia Sidereas; USAID Deputy Director Ms. Margaret Sancho; Consul General Mr. Jon Webster and Cultural Affairs Officer Ms. Erin Tariot.    They were joined by American Chamber of Commerce Chair of the Board Mr. Tareq Tawfik; Fulbright alum and Deputy Minister of Finance Dr. Ehab Abou Aish; Deputy Minister of Communication Ms. Ghada Labib and Fulbright alum Senator Heba Sharobeem.
