Humanities Circle Conducts Seminar, “To Kill a Mockingbird: A Challenging Translation”
On November 5, the Commission’s circle of humanities alumni conducted a seminar on “To Kill a Mockingbird: A Challenging Translation” being one of the most widely read, bestselling and influential books in American literature. It was published in 1960 and many years after its publication, the novel still draws almost a million readers annually as it focuses on issues related to human dignity and respect for ‘the Other’ that remain fundamental and universal.
