U.S. Fulbrighter Conducts Research at Cairo University and Studies Arabic at CASA
An American Fulbrighter has begun research on “Egyptian Film, Media, and National Identity: 1952-1976” while affiliated with Cairo University. He is Mr. Meir Walters, a doctoral student at Georgetown University. Mr. Walters has assumed language studies at the Center for Arabic Studies Abroad (CASA). He studied Arabic at Defense Language Institute in Monterey in 2002-2003, and graduated from the St. John’s College in 2001 with a degree in Liberal Arts. In 2005 he took his M.A. degree from the University of Chicago. While in Cairo he will pursue his research while affiliated with the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University.
