Commission Bids Farewell to Bruce Lohof

With a reception at the Fountain Area of the American University in Cairo’s Tahrir Square campus, followed by a concert in Ewart Hall, the Commission bid farewell to its Executive Director Dr. Bruce A. Lohof, following seven years’ service to mutual understanding between Egypt and the United States. Gathered to honor Bruce were alumni, friends, members of the Board of Directors, and staffers. Among the speakers were the President of AUC Dr. Lisa Anderson, Mr. Tom Thomson, Vice Chairman of the Board, and alumnus Dr. Amr Shaarawi (Virginia Tech AY1996-1997), Dean of Graduate Studies at AUC. Members of the staff had recorded a brief documentary of comments about Bruce, in appreciation of their work together.
