Egyptian Master’s Degree Students Enjoys ADR Access in Los Angeles Superior Court

Mr. Sherif El Negahy, a 2008-2009 Fulbright student, has obtained full access to the Los Angeles Superior Court’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Department. “I believe it will be a great experience for me,” Mr. Sherif reports, “as I have full access to all their materials and cases, and I am meeting with the judges.” Mr. Sherif hopes to learn more about the role of arbitration and mediation in the ADR process, and “to draw this picture upon my return” to Egypt. An LL.B. graduate of Ain Shams University, Mr. Sherif is a public prosecutor with the Ministry of Justice. He is completing LL.M. studies at Pepperdine University and hopes to return from the U.S. better prepared to encourage ADR in Egypt.
