Egyptian Fulbright Alumnus Performs at Manasterly Palace

On November 11 Mohamed Shams, a concert pianist and Fulbright alumnus, appeared in concert in Egypt’s prestigious Manasterly Palace. The program, a part of the International Music Center’s “5 Years of Excellence” series, included selections from Bach, Beethoven, and Ravel, and concluded with Rachmaninoff’s “Sonata No. 2 Op. 36 in B flat.” As an AY2005-2006 Fulbrighter, Mohamed studied piano with Marilyn Neeley at the Catholic University of America. In appearing in concert at Manasterly Palace, Mohamed showcased the Commission’s contribution to the cultural life of Egypt.
