Stefan Halper Speaks To American Studies Circle

On November 8 the Commission’s American Studies Circle gathered to hear Stefan Halper, Director of Cambridge University’s Atlantic Studies Programme, speak on “U.S. Foreign Policy After Bush.” The Circle is an organization of Fulbright alumni and other American studies specialists in the region. Its organizers include the Commission’s Manager, Alumni Affairs, Ms. Safaa Abbadi, and Fulbright alumna Dr. Areeg Ibrahim (Yale University 2005-2006) of Helwan University. Educated at Stanford University and Oxford University, Dr. Halper earned a Ph.D. degree from Cambridge in 2004. He is the author of The Silence of the Rational Center: why U.S. foreign policy is failing (2007) and America Alone: the neo-conservatives and the global order (2004. The American Studies Circle serves as a forum for exchange among the Commission’s American studies alumni.
