BFCE Welcomes Its New Board Members
The Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt held its first Board meeting in 2018 at its headquarters in Dokki on Wednesday, February 14th. The Commission welcomed its new Chair of the Board, Dr. Essam Khamis, Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Research and new Board members: Dr. Youssef Rashed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities and Dr. Mohamed Salheen, Minister of Higher Education’s advisor for Strategic Planning. Also in attendance were Board Treasurer, Ms. Helen Lafave, Minister-Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo; Ms. Katie Donohoe, Director of the Office of Education and Health at USAID/Egypt; Mr. Raymond Miller, Founding Partner of rmc (raafat.miller.consulting) and the Commission’s Executive Director, Dr. Maggie N. Nassif. Also serving on the Fulbright Board is Dr. Hossam Malahy, Head of Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector at the Ministry of Higher Education. The Board discussed various upcoming projects and programs including the Fulbright Student / HEI Program which will offer 40 Master’s degrees to Egyptian graduate students to study in the US.
